Tandem Cycling - Sterling/Bilenky rides again!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It has taken me quite a while to put this together. The info I found in this forum has been invaluable in my choice of components.
Fillet brazed frame and lugged fork, Rolf wheels, Campagnolo shifters moving a 105 front and a Sram X9 rear derailleur and Paul cross tops to stop the Conti 4 seasons tires.
My stoker is stoked to take it out asap

Nice job bringing a classic frame back into the modern age! Looks like a great setup.

when you get a few rides under your belt let me know how the brake lever/pauls cross tops work together......

will do, on the stand at least they feel fine. The crosstops have been discontinued by Paul though, to bad I like not having to use a travel agent to adapt. I am going to try the cool stop grey they came with, and if warranted I have a set of Cool stop salmon pads in
reserve. I would probably change my cable housing before I changed brakes though.

Sweet! Lovin the paint.
Congrats on putting this beuty back to life! I love the classic-style lugged fork! Did you need to you use any adaptor to run the Sram rear derailleur with the Campy shifters (I can't see it clearly from the picture)?

the pull ratio is apparently close enough to work without adaptation, I went with this setup on the recommendation of Crank2 in Pleasanton. They are a great store- Tandem heaven for sure.

Put 23 miles on the shakedown cruise of mostly flat riding. The shifting was as crisp as I have come to expect from my Campy ergo shifted singles. In other words perfect almost psychic :D The brakes worked well, but still need a lot of bedding in as cool stop canti pads usually do (wear off the pad alignment nubs). we are stoked.
