1977 Super Le Tour 12.2
- new cables and housing
- new bar tape and brake hoods
- new (cheap) tires
- new brake pads
- runs well. Very very minimal rust/knicks/dings.

I'm in a transition phase as to what I need in a bike. I'm wondering if this is even worth selling!

You should be able to get at least $150 for it on craigslist. Take off the pump, saddle bag, etc as those items don't add much value to the bike and will essentially be gifts to whoever buys it.

Maybe up to $200 if you find the right buyer, but I doubt Iowa's a hot market - maybe I'm wrong. I'd lower the stem, and adjust the saddle back a little and tilt to level before I shot any sales pics.

Ex pres - you're right about Iowa, not much of a market here. Finding decent used bikes has proven difficult. seat is level now and ill leave the stem up to the potential buyer.

Your common model 70's Schwinn road bikes seem to top out around $200 in excellent condition which is what you could maybe get from the right buyer. If your using the bike and or comfortable with it I would suggest keeping it you will likely get more value out of it as rider then you would selling it.

those were nice riding Schwinns back in the day. I'd hang onto it if all your going to get is a couple of hundred bucks

yep, it still rides great. i paid $60 for it a few years ago and knew i was getting a great deal. i put new cables/housing, brakes, tires, brake hoods, and bar tape on it so I've only got about $100 in it. Im thinking that the couple hundred id get from it (so i can fund another bike project) isn't worth it for as nice as it rides. thanks for the replies.
