An old bike?

ho ho ho ... didn't think anyone would try that one.. :) its the frame im trying to id.. you see that quill before?? :)

it's blue

and it's a cheapie - look at those squared lugs. And the stem is a knock-off of much prettier (and much more valuable) designs.

How about a pic of the entire bike?

Any logos? Serial numbers?

no numbers, logos..etc.. just hoped someone would recognise the bike from the parts if they were a standard fitting.. im new to old bikes

+1 post a good picture of the whole bike from the driveside. Looks pretty old, maybe 1950s or 60s? Might be worth something but not a lot since it does look pretty low end.

Looks to be a lesser 60's maybe late 50's British frame most likely made by BBC and sold under one of it's lesser labels like Hercules, Royal Crown ro any one of the dozen or so labels they sold bikes under.

I kinda agree with ZUKAHN1 looks like a english bike but the rear brakes are spendy CLB 66s so a good bike and an oil port

It's an interesting bike, probably British. The stem is an adjustable reach "Major Taylor" type with a clip, but I've never seen one with such a positive rise angle before. The lubrication port in the BB shell is typical of older loose bearing bottom brackets. The heavy utilitarian lugs would indicate it's not high end. Cottered crank arms date it to the fifties or earlier. Very cool find.

I'm guessing late thirties vintage...

Probably pre-60s. Looks like a hodge podge of parts. The mount for a generator and the rack eyelets suggest it wasn't quite the lowest rung of whatever line up it was part of. But I don't have a clue who made it. Fork crowns and drop outs are usually distinctive from brand to brand on bikes of this general era, so good photos of them might help somebody spot it. On the other hand there were so many small shops making frames in the immediate pre-war and post-war eras that is may also be near impossible to pin point a maker.

It could be real hard to get a good ID on this frame since it has little that is distinctive about it. This style of strait lugged frame was made by numerouse companies in England from the early 30's to early 70's.

Sturmey archer rear hub? Should have a date on it.

I'm pretty sure that the rear wheel isn't the original Sturmey Archer hub with Dunlap rim that you would expect to find on this bike. It looks like someone replaced the orignal 3 speed with a cheap singlespeed wheel at some point.
