I use Runkeeper as my cycling app on my iPhone 4. My daughter has it on her iPhone 4S, but her mileage is always about 30% high. We've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and also powered the phone off and back on to no avail. The time is good, only the mileage is off and she says the GPS seems to function fine in other, non-fitness applications. Anyone else? Anyone have an idea of how to fix it?

Forget Runnkeeper and try Endomondo

Is she running any other apps in the background? I saw something similar on my old Captivate. I'd run Wigle wifi with Map My ride and milage would go wacky. My best guess in my case is neither app liked sharing GPS (Not that the Captivate is noted for accurate GPS) or it was running out of processor..

Even on long rides (60-70 miles), it's always been accurate to within .3 miles for me, when compared to my bicycle computer's odometer.

Asd is mine on my iPhone 4. She downloaded a different cycling app yesterday and tried it and the mileage was perfect. So it's something to do with RK and not the GPS. I've emailed their support, but no response yet after 2 days :( Maybe we'll try uninstall and reinstall again. Weird...

could be dependent on the weather in your area, when it is overcast I get bad results from runkeeper.. I would also look at Strava - Endomondo or Cardiotrainer - all free apps.
