My kid wants a bike - but which one?
The kid in question is over 45. He has an old Gary Fisher MTB. He wants what he terms a "road bike." Don't think Roadie in Suit of Lights on a carbon fibre something. That is not him. I am trying to pin him down on what type of bike. He may not know.
Price range is 800-1000$ (<g> Yes, I know. I'm riding a HPV Scorpion at 5.3k$. He, however, is very thrifty - unless it's camera equipment.)
It needs gearing for the hills. I suggested a new MTB. I suggested a new comfort bike. I suggested a folder.
What do you suggest?
