Hi,

Does anybody out there know of a suitcase which will hold a Brompton and still weigh under 50 lbs. (for flying purposes)? I have a Brompton T-6 which weighs about 26 lbs. Most hard suitcases weigh about 15 lbs. so weight shouldn't be a problem. Finding one with the right dimensions is the problem. If I can't find something commercial I will have to have a case made, which will be more expensive.

Anybody have experience with this?

Regards,

Tairaku

I built a 26x26x10 case for my S&S coupled bike. Parts were probably no more than $30 and it's around 15lbs. The nice part about this is when it gets broken, I will be able to repair it wherever since everything is normal. Put a $10 WalMart trolley on its outside and throw it into the box before flying. Now you have something without wheels to be broken off.

I'm looking for a few Brompton owners to answer the questions on the ' Hitchikers guide to the folding bicycle' thread on this board. I'm trying to get a well rounded set of various brand owners to give the reasoning behind the hows/whys of ending up at their current bike choice. I think this will make great critical reading for newbies planning on purchasing a folding bike purchase.

Thanks,
