Hybrid Bicycles - What new saddle/seat?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
The Serfas Lycra Dual Density Saddle is the most comfortable saddle I have ever used but it is large and heavy.

I like the idea of a Brooks on my road bike but I want to go textile on my hybrid. I don't "train" on my bikes, rather I spend 12 hours out and about just enjoying the sun on my face so I'm on and off the bikes all day. We've talked the Brooks and we've talked the one model Serfas. What else is out there that you like?

The saddles I use are:
Specialized Romin SL (great)

Selle San Marco SKN (great)

Fizik Antares Braided Carbon (perfect)

These all look like performance seats? I have no meat on my butt and am hoping to find something for comfort and endurance. I save the performance seats for my roadie.
Is there something I'm not seeing? I'm sure I could look at all these seats today if I want to.

You asked "What else is out there that you like?"
I like / love these.
It all depends on your saddle bones vs your saddle. Your saddle angle, and saddle placement on your post also are factors you must concider.
I have no meat on my arse either and I can easily ride for hours with no discomfort on all three of these saddles.
If you can look at these saddle, why don't you? The Fiziks come in a variety sizes, as do the specialized Romins.
A lesser seat = less pain. Its about stiffness...

Thanks everybody. I ended up using the same saddle again. The Serfas Lycra Dual Density Saddle. It looks much better on a hybrid than it looked on a roadie used as a commuter. I'm about to buy another roadie; that with padded bike shorts will stay fully a roadie and won't have fat aftermarket saddles. I'm going to post pictures of the hybrid later this morning and the new saddle will be on it.

I know it's a worn out observation, but I love Brooks B- 17.

What about the Serfas Performance RX Bicycle Saddle.

Just order myself one. Waiting to receive it. I've read very good reviews on it.
I too dont do really long rides, have a bony butt and upgraded the stocker on my hybrid to one of these:

I feel it is a awesome seat, but as mentioned, saddle angle and saddle placement play a big part in ultimate comfort.
I have to agree. That is what I ended up going with.

The Brooks is mentioned in the original post. I know it's a winner but not for my bouncing bike. I may put one on my next road bike.

I don't know. REI and Sports Chalet both have the Serfas line. Most models seem pretty popular. I'm looking forward to hearing your review.

Wow. That has been rated really high for such a reasonable price. I'm going to have to investigate that one further as well.
I ride a pretty good amount of miles but I aqumilate my miles by being out all day, not by crushing miles in shorter time frames. Maybe that's why these seats work so well for me.

just an fyi, i am a dude - 5'10" 185lb and i ordered the women's serfas dual density back in april 2010 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MT0GP8/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
i've ridden this since then and it is super comfy. doesn't look wide like a woman's saddle which is why i bought it, but it works great. i've ridden 40 miles in a day - which is nothing crazy, but a decent amount for a casual rider like me, and my bum never felt uncomfortable. for 38 bucks i am very happy. read a lot of reviews before i ordered it, and it paid off.
I think these Serfas are coming up through the ran ks. A lot of people have a lot of good things to say about then.
