Hybrid Bicycles - 80+ psi in a 32 700?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I think I'd like a higher pressure tire than the 60 psi 32 700 that came on my bike. Maybe it's because I came from road bikes but I like the responsiveness of a high pressure tire. I want to stay with a 32 for the curd hopping and pinch flat resistance but I'm almost always going to be on pavement with my hybrid and just want a more rigid sidewll and less patch on the ground. Who makes a 80+ psi 32 700 street tire?

Panaracer T-Serv comes to mind. They size small - my "28's" were 25's - but the 32 inflates to 95psi and the 35 to 75psi.
I only kept mine for 3 weeks - at the 95psi I had to run with the narrow width, I flatted three times in those three weeks on the craptastic roads I ride, when I'm accustomed to about one flat per season. Your mileage, of course, will vary and maybe the larger widths are truer to spec.

If you want to go a size smaller to 28MM tires, you can typically run much noticeably higher pressures and still avoid pinch flats.
Perfect stuff there gentlemen. I hadn't looked in the places you'd normally shop for tires, I just tossed the question out there. Up until this point I've only run 23's and 25's on road bikes. Here, it seems I have old friends in a 32. I'm glad to see the Schwalbes, and Gatorskins in a 32.
I decided to commute on a hybrid and save the road bikes for pure recreation. For this reason, I'd like to stay with the 32's. In all reality, with my move in a few weeks, it probably doesn't matter what I run. My commute will change from 7 miles to 1.5 miles.
Thanks for the input. Now I have to spend another $100. HAhhahaa

The 700x32 Specialized All Condition Sport will take 115-125 psi and the Specialized Nimbus and Infinity (including Armadillos in both) will take 75-100 psi.

I put 130 psi Serfas Seca's on my wife's bike, her's are 28's but I'm sure they come in 32's too, FYI.
Pinch flatting has more to do with not checking inflation pressure often enough. Running a wider tire at very high pressure sort of defeats the purpose unless you drop the pressure back down off-road. I agree with dropping down to a 28mm wide tire at ~80psi if you want low rolling resistance. I only run the 25mm tires on my road bike at 90-95psi and at 190-200lbs have never had a pinch flat.
Some very interesting suggestions here. I'm looking forward to investigating tires for this new to me kind of bike. I am familiar with Armadillos in a much narrower tire as well.

im pretty sure these are the tires i use, city on back, randonneur on front.
one rear flat in approx 1,500 NYC miles (a metal filing worked its way between my tire and rim!), 260+ lb clyde who rides hard, almost anywhere.

Can I run 28 on this bike that came with 32s on it?

My hybrid came with 35's and I'm running 26's on the same rim with absolutely NO problem.
The pics are of a 23mm on the same width rim, although I wouldn't recommend it. The width of the rim is about .5mm wider than the tire!
I appreciate the response. Thank you very much.
What made you go to a 28? I can really appreciate the difference of the 32 over my road bike when I ride in a tiny bit of dirt but for the rest of my commute I miss the rock hard, tiny, fast tires. But I still want to go flying off of curbs like I did when I was a kid; something I'd never do on my road bike.
You like kinda look about my age mister. Are you knocking out the miles yet?

I didn't go to 28's.
It's an old pic.
Waiting for our record setting rain to quit before I start logging the miles. In the meantime, just errands.
