Mountain - Plains - Going to Craig, CO and maybe Bozeman, MT next week. Should I bring my bike?

Since I don't have to teach classes next week, I'm taking the week off my mortgage-paying day job and taking a trip to visit an associate in Craig, Colorado for a day or two. I'll be driving. After that, if I have time, I'll wander up to the Bozeman area to check it out as a possible retirement place.

Where are some nice climbs in the area. Don't want to do anything massive, but more than willing to get a few thousand climbing feet in a 20-25 mile ride. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Well ... 48 views of this thread and not one suggestion. I'm in Cedar City tonight and will be in Craig tomorrow. Guess I'll just have to find my own riding paths.

I've been through Craig a few times, but not enough to notice the how the riding is there.

If you have time stop in Grand Junction and ride the Colorado National Monument's Rimrock Drive (http://www.tomorrowhillfarm.com/JHsMapsJpeg/CNM%2010-03-11.jpg).
A nice climb with amazing views.

I believe the National Park Service has some stringent requirements for appropriate lighting in the tunnels at the Monument. At least that was the discussion last year or so.

Just rode the Monument last week - the requirement is any head and tail light, and you can borrow one if you don't have it.

I don't know enough about Craig to comment, and I rode a through Bozeman a few years ago, the area to the south/west was nice, but I don't recall what rode I was on. HOpe you have fun & good weather!
