Ron asked me to come in and say a few words. I live in Orlando Florida married with two kids. (That may be why I ride a bike!) I have had a Giant comfort mountain bike. (THEY CALL IT COMFORT...) I have done a little trail camping and on a ride one day a guy blew by me on a road bike and I knew I had to have one. I bought a used Giant Perigee to try one out. I am new at the road bikes but it now sure is hard to walk past it in the garage to take the comfort moutain (THEY CALL IT THAT) out for a ride. I have already learned a lot from some of the messages I have read and I now have an eye out for a new road bike. Thanks for the info.

Hey GiantBike, Thats the worst thing about starting out in cycling, finding out which type of bike is right for you.I rode a hybrid for 5 years and changed parts a little at a time until it was more road worthy. Most of the change was me going from a upright position, then over time I changed stems and went with narrower saddles, narrower tires.Bought a roadbike this year and it is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden.I still ride the hybrid on trails and rainy days.I'm just glad I didn't listen to the salesman, cause he tried to sell me a mountainbike to begin with.Mountainbikes are the top sellers but I wonder how many are sold to people because its hard to know what kind of cycling suits us.Live and learn eh?...Hilly

Hey, another Floridian!!!

I'm down in Sarasota!

Welcome to the forums and glad to hear you're enjoying you new ride! I too am married, but with only one kid! My biggest challange seems to be finding time to ride on a regular basis! Once I'm riding, the rest is easy!

See you around

Thank you. You are in one of the better places in Florida. I have been down there many times and really like that area.
