I came a cross these just today and I'm kinda lost little more than most of the time on value I got both dirt cheap I may just keep them as collectors or sell them at some point. Considering best I can tell they are both fairly high end and came off bikes that people road during the 70's a 13-18 corncobe Suntour and a 14-34 Maillard. Some info as to why people used these or there value would be great also anyone have a clue as to the dippling on the Maillard or it's purpose.http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc430/zukahn2/compare%20freewheels/DSC00535.jpg

Do an Advances Search on Ebay's Vintage Cycling category and enter the word freewheel. You will then see what people are actually paying for the item(s) you have. That's how I do it when I don't have a clue about value.
No idea about the dimples on the Maillard unit, though.
...be sure to click the completed auction box so it shows what people have paid for the item.
A very good point and sorry for leaving it out.
Thast what I do too, be sure to click the completed auction box so it shows what people have paid for the item.

Why they used those gear ratios? 14-34 for climbing mountains and 13-18 for flat lands.

Wouldn't the 14-34 old school take one hell of Vintage DR to make it work good.

I've had an Ultra6 13-18 in the box for a while. Last I looked (it's been a while) sellers on ebay were trying to get ~$60 and more for them, but actual sales (rare) were much lower, say $20. Nothing special.

I have seen the $50 + prices listed for good vintage 13-18's but no sale a couple sold cheap under $20 recently but with more than that shipping.

Not that it matters much but I still want to know what the purpose of the dimples pin holes on the Malliard are for?
