Im sure the jokes will fly but Im posting anyway.
I rode my Pug on a group ride recently and we stopped at a bar afterwards. There was maybe 20 bikes parked outside. As soon as I opened the door to leave, a guy outside said "Thats your bike over there with the tires, isnt it?" I get the questions about the bike all the time, but this is the first time Ive been identified as its owner when I wasnt on it.
Then a few days later, I rode it to work and a guy from a different floor actually found me at my desk and started asking questions about the bike, assuming I was the owner. I dont know anyone else personally that owns one, so I dont know if theres some physical similarities amongst Puglsey owners, but being identified by look twice in one week makes me think theres something going on here.

 It may just be that, in both instances, the people saw you on the bike earlier - - which stood out because of its uniqueness - - and then talked to you later about it.

And then again, it may be a "look" - - y'know, kinda like those guys who are into collecting vintage Ramblers, Nashes, Hudsons, etc? Are you crosseyed, have big cauliflower ears or webbed fingers and toes?

Post a picture of your Pugsley. Surly is a great name, Pugs like the dogs are unique. Kinda like monster trucks. I want to see what you have. Columbus Ohio, EH? Are you wearing Red and Silver this week?

Was your bike the only thoroughbred mountain bike of the bunch in either situation? Could just be that you have a 'mountain biker' look (whatever THAT is) & they identified you that way.

Mountain Biker look=cross between hockey player complexion/teeth and Cheech and Chong in the 70s.

let me guess, short hair with a longish/scruffy beard? tattoos on your legs? do you have a quiet but intelligent demeanor about yourself?

^ Hahaha. I wen't to a Pugsley demo at a local trail. About 6 guys from the shop there with their own pugs and the shops demo pugs. I'd say 3 of the guys with their own pugs there had short-ish hair, scruffy beards, and the "quiet but intelligent" demeanor. All super cool laid back dudes. It was winter in WI, so no idea about the leg tattoos. I do know I want a pug now, though! They were So awesome and fun to ride!

I have a 90 BMW 3 series(one of the "classic looking BMWs"). For some reason several people that have come in have asked me about it or if it was my car. I asked a couple other employees and they said no one has ever said anything about it to them. I started wondering if I had a look too...

I am bike illiterate, so forgive me but I did not know what this bike was and had to surf for it. Unique looking, what is the added value of the tires if you do not mind me asking?

due to the sheer size of the tires, you can lower the PSI to as little as 6 allowing the bike to float over anything. Ive ridden right over curbs, upstairs, and thick brush. Not from personal experience yet, but it is amazing on snow, sand, swamp, pretty much anything. If you look on the Surly website, it is listed as an "omni-terrain" bike. It is one of the most fun bikes you can ride

You weren't wearing enough Scarlet and Silver, I'm guessing.

I'll attest to the snow performance. I test rode one in the snow and it was awesome. Definitely better than my bike with 2 1/4" knobbies.
