Hello all,

I am considering buying the 2012 Gravity FSX 2.0 from Bikes Direct (link: http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/gravity/fsx_2.htm) as it is in my budget and looks good. I plan to get the large 21" as I am 6'5" tall and 250 lbs (plan to lose weight). I am wondering if you all think its a good bike? I am a entry level guy who just plans to go ride on paved and dirt trails around my area, not interested in any sort of racing or far riding type stuff.

Also, how is buying from Bikes Direct?

Thanks!

IMO you would be better off getting a hardtail. The rear suspension on that bike would probably hinder you more than help not to mention the added weight. As far as buying from BD no experience there.

How about this one?

I like the looks of that one even better :)

I think that would be a better bet in that price range. There are a lot of decent entry level hardtails out there.

Rode one of these for a couple years and it never failed. Actually rebuilding the bike right now as a ss. Pretty decent bike for the price. Very solid frame.

Also might want check out something like the Specialized Hardrock. Another decent entry level hardtail from a bit more reputable manufacturer.

I bought from Bikesdirect.com and the transaction was good, no problems. I bought 2010 Windsor Stratford hybrid bike(1+ year). the gravity bike that looks cool.

I went ahead and purchased the Gravity Base Camp 2.0 23" mtb :) It retails on their official site for nearly $800 and I bought it brand new for under $400 so that looks like it would be a good bargain :D I read some reviews online about it and it looked good so I am happy to be giving it a shot!
