Anyone out there install one of these gun-handle switches to their flashlight? Im thinking about adding one to my 18650 powered Solarforce torch. This remote switch will be mounted where my thumb naturally rests for instant access. While in traffic this could come in handy when i need to "grab some attention" (with the drop-in's "strobe mode" setting)

but id like to know if anyone has tested it out...One possible downside: if the switch is too sensitive, it could accidentally turn-on the light when it gets jolted from bumps in the road

anyone?

thanks :):):)

I'm actually surprised you can even buy that! Its actually intended for gun mounted flashlights and purchase of that kind of item is usually restricted to law enforcement and military personnel.

And any US Citizen. It's just a blasted switch.

Why not just run the strobe all the time? That's what I do day or night.

I don't think that is cool! ;)

That's a pretty glib response Tom. Lithium is just another stupid metal and lasers are just some fancy flashlight too but both are subject to control by the US government. But actually it seems that whats controlled most isn't if US citizens can buy this stuff as much as if they're allowed to export it outside the country.

I've personally worked on guidance systems for some of the cruise missles used by the US military as well as night vision / optical weapons systems used in some US military helicopters, so I'm not exactly stating some prudish viewpoint.

But it does surprise me everytime you have another school shooting in your fine country and people seem somehow surprised how the shooter managed to acquire all the equipment.

Hence the remote switch. i can tap it on/off for "momentary-on" mode....plus i use a custom amber tinted difusser that isnt as annoying as a naked beam. The plan is to use the strobe, diffusser+remote at intersections and under overpasses. Amber/yellow seems to alert drivers.
BTW... i dont even own a gun so take a deep breath......and relax......repeat......there, thats better:)

No "deep breaths" here,

Me thinks you needs a quick course in READING COMPREHENSION!!

Go back and read my reply.

You posted this

My reply was this

I don't think that is cool! ;)

I am talking about putting a light on strobe all the time. That is what I said wasn't cool. At night, how can you going to see with your light on strobe???? The reason I said READING COMPREHENSION is needed, is because no where in my post to this thread do I mention anything about guns, but yet you tell me you don't own and a gun and for me to take a deep breath???????????????????????????

I went back and REREAD MY REPLY, I suggest you do the same.:notamused:

Sorry the "take a deep breath" wasnt directed at you, but to anyone scared off by the word "gun". BTW, I never posted anything about leaving the strobe on all the time...that was RepWi, so you are also mistaken;)
So far my original post question has not been answered at all..........So anyone tested out a remote switch on they're flashlight? thanks!:)

Thank you for that, and I didn't mean to be so pointed in my reply. I DID respond to the post that said "strobe on all the time".. And that poster didn't respond, you did. All a MISUNDERSTANDING.

Also, taking all these shots at guns, for and against, IMO don't belong in these threads. That is political stuff, and political stuff get peeps panties in a bunch.

Now, back to lights, switches and all the good stuff!! ;)

Well, thank you for that. Also, I didn't mean to post such a pointed response either!

Not to carry this on, but I didn't say you said anything about strobe.I replied to the poster who said keeping strobe on all the time. You took my response, and applied the deep breath idea. Look, all a misunderstanding. Also, those pro-gun and anti-gun stuff, IMO doesn't belong in these threads.

On the switch, I am thinking about trying one, but they take so long shipping stuff, I might be 80 years old when I get one!! :D

I see that you have one attached to your rig in the first pic. Have you used it? It seems like a great idea. The lanyard is just hanging there, the switch is no bigger than the lanyard, and it would be nice just to press that to change moods.. Good idea!! ;)

I want to mount a P7 to flash cars with who won't dim their brights. I ride rural roads. I have one P7 that I run on medium. I have another that I wired direct, bypassing the circuit board. That's the one I want the pressure switch for. Thanks for the info.
