Converting my Fisher 'Genesis' frame to a SS...

I want to keep it cheap and as 'clean' as possible, so I'm thinking about a half-link from Spicer. To those using them, are they pretty reliable? I'm hoping to use a 32x16, without a tensioner.

Its a cheap experiment anyway, so I'll get one and try it, just wondering if anyone has any reviews.

Also saw a DMN tensioner for $12. Being that cheap, I'm sure its not too great, but if it only had to take up a couple of mms of slack... maybe it would work? Anyone use them?

Finally, anyone know of any 'magic' gear combos that'll work with a Fisher genesis geometry?

Thanks

I don't know how much the Spicer part is but you can get KMC offset links from bikepartsusa.com for 99 cents. I used them one my fixed gear road bike conversion and my roommate's single speed mtb conversion, seem to be holding up fine.

half links usually work... but if it doesnt take out enough slack you can use a tentioner... i have one if youd like it.

If you have a P1, you have extremely short (to the point of utter uselessness) track ends, not horizontal dropouts.
