Hi there, i have an Dahon Mu p8 foldingbike. The aluminium bolt is loose. The best position to fasten the frame is 20 mm before the frame! due to wear of the alu bolt. :notamused:
Behind this point the frame is letting loose again.
Note: it is not the adjustment of the v-grip that causes the problem.

Has anyone had the same problem, hence an solution?

Do you have a photo of the bolt in question? Thor has a vise grip repair kit, I would contact him and see if this is the solution. http://www.thorusa.com/accessories/special.htm

Hi again, i have no photo but its the The V-Clamp Hinge version A or B (can't see the difference) shown here http://www.dahon.com/sites/default/files/support/manuals/bikes/0/2010/2010_dahon_service_instructions_en_11.pdf on top of page 19.
I found the Vice Grip Repair Kit, but its completely unclear what it is, only the price is shown. Can anybody tell?

It is the alu clamp a mean which is loose.
