Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - 1998 Bianchi Eros - Assumed it was worth about $150. Guessing I was wrong....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Sorry if not vintage but it feels like anything pre-carbon/alum is vintage these days.
Have a decent condition 98 pearl white eros. Some paint rubs on the frame and the drivetrain is a little worn. Posted it on Craigslist for $150 and have gotten 60+ inquiries and offers up to $250. Am I missing something?
Also, the rack and pedals weren't included in the price.

I have a '99 in similar condition; not the greatest bike, but no way I would sell it for $150!

Why didn't you sell it? You put a $150 price on it and you should have sold it.
That aside Bianchis are fabulous bikes and the steel ones tend to hold their value. The Eros model is a fairly popular model because of mix of racy geomentry but the ability to put a fatter tire and racks and fenders to make it a comuter or Ranonnneur.

Had this been near me and my size I would have loved to have it at $150.
+1 The time to research is before you post it for sale. Is $150 low? Oh yeah, its way low. Racks and pedals have little to no impact on price.
Ergo and STI bikes start at about $300 and go up from there depending on group (level), condition, brand and frame material. Bianchi bikes always get a strong response when I sell them.
Location is also a factor. I am in an "average" market. So my pricing reflects that. Hot markets like SF, Portland, OR, NYC and others bring more $$. BFE will bring less.

In Minneapolis/St. Paul that bike would go for $325-$475. I bought a 1997 Eros last fall for $100 from a woman that just wanted to get rid of it. The components (Campy Mirage) were in good shape but there were a lot of scratches, paint chips and the decals were bad. I can get it powder coated for $35 then will put it on the market for around $425.
