Steel Grey metallic, MASI only on DT. Fender eyelets.. SM S WC B8146 SMC60 1981

This one from the Masi USA registry (http://bhovey.com/Masi/MasiUSA.htm)

I'll get some better pictures in a day or two when the weather
clears up outside here and I can get better light.

It is very pretty, isn't it ? Once again, I own another bike
that is so far in excess of my own abilities as to be ridiculous.

Nice! We need more info! Your registry link goes only the registry, not to any specific bike. Details of the seat lug? BB? Anything?

I think yours is better looking than the catalog bikes.

I'm really curious about the fender eyelets you said it had. Could that have been a customer option?

Very nice bike. The simple "MASI" on the downtube is usually only seen on bikes from Rancho Santa Fe in 1978 but I believe it occasionally was seen on the very early San Marcos built bikes.

It's a GC, CaliMasi from '81, probably. Reg # is B 8146.

I honestly don't know if it was sold as a frame or a bike.

The seller was pretty sure it was built by Dave Moulton
in San Marcos, California, but he's not the original owner.

It is another gift from the great god Craig, who provides
all things (including disappointments) to his faithful flock.

The rear wheel is tied and soldered, which is interesting.
I've never seen a tied and soldered wheel except on a track
bike, but I guess at one time it was trendy.

Spence Wolf frequently tied and soldered spokes on the wheels he built for the bikes he sold at Cupertino Bike Shop. And he did sell Masis.

Now you've done it! Now nothing's going to be good enough for you unless it's a Masi....plus we will hate you too!:p:D
Oi!, by the way, the RD on your bike looks familiar. A bike I juat aquired for a new resto project seems to have the same black paint "enhancement" on it's NR front arm.......

Who was doing this with the NR RDs? did they possibly come from Campagnolo with the black paint on the arm to accentuate the lettering as an option, or was this just a popular mod in the 70's??

A popular mod back in the day and one I still do to many of my bikes.

Oh and Masi obsession is a disease. I have 5 now - 4 GCs (72, 76, 78, 84) and a 3V (84). I think a few others on the forum have even more.

I do not disclose the true number. A persistent increase over time is quite common.

It's ok, i hate myself for not being on CL an hour earlier before i saw a Masi GC in my hometown for $200!

Wow was i disappointed, tried to call the seller multiple times but it was long gone, somebody jumped on that like a puma.

Congrats on the bike! Looks Good!
