This is a tough one. Google suggests this route: http://g.co/maps/qq2gp I'd be a little hesitant to ride it; might suggest a minivan taxi to haul your bike to the bike-friendly downtown.
I'm a northeast-sider, and don't know the ins and outs of the neighborhoods in that area. Indy has some growing bike-friendly infrastructure, but not on the west side yet.
