It's gonna be a fun ride, 15 to 20 MPH winds and rain forecasted. I can hardly wait. Its been in the 90s and for the ride 40s and 50s. I may call in sick, LOL.

I just picked up my packet and it seems I was signed up for the 28 mile instead of the whole enchilada. Like an idiot, I told them and she changed it in about 30 seconds. Why did I open my mouth???? Its going to be in the 40s, windy and rainy, I should have opted for the short ride for sure.
3 AM wake up call to find a parking place somewhat near the start line by 4:30 or 5 AM. and we take off at daylight.

It sounds like your fun meter is going to be pegged out all day.

We have the Hemet Double Century Saturday and I have waited to sign up in the morning about 4am just to see if I have the nerve to start a century in the rain.

Difference with Mobile is the temperature. Just take a bar of soap with you and treat it as a cool shower

It's snowing here at the moment...

Glad I did my "big" ride of the week yesterday. :D
It was a might breezy, but dry.

Well it over and I am glad. It was mostly very windy, cold (40s and 50s) and some rain. There was a time where I couldn't feel my feet they were so cold. Got home and into the hot shower PDQ. It was a good ride other wise for me. I took a 52 sec. nature beak and made it all the way without using an aid station. Thats a first time for me with this event. Its usually hot enough to need a water refill at least twice on the ride. I was able to draft quite a bite at different times and other time I was all by my lonesome, grrrr. I did take a silver in the event. I was happy with the day.

I don't think I could ride that long with only eight minutes of break time... nice ride...:thumb:

I didn't have 8 minutes of break time. I turned on the garmin long about 8 minutes before the race started so I did't forget like I did one time back. I made one behind a bush nature call that was less than a minute. I have been over this course many times and I know just the right spots for such things. Nothing like local knowledge.
