Is that a cut on your foot? I've always and still am hesitant to go with a fixed/clipless set up.

Welcome! :)
The cut on your ankle distracts greatly from the picture of your shoes, by the way. :P

On the other hand, nice setup! I'm planning on going clipless too... soon... hopefully when I have the money. Time ATAC x Sidi Dominateurs.

Why not? It's not that much different

That's the outside of his right foot. I doubt it was caused by the bike unless he fell sideways, which could happen to anybody on any bike.

I've heard stories from my friends where this guy lost control and got a deep cut on his leg. I am using clipless pedals on my road bike though.
Damn, I sort of want to go clipless too... looks so fun!

How would clips and straps change that? Your foot is still being held onto the pedal. IDk, I never found clips to be easier to use

Ease of use - clipless. Practical use (because of shoes) - clips. IMHO.

I feel like if you lose control, you lose control, no matter what pedals you're using.

I have a scar from the same exact cut, but on the left side of my right ankle, from losing footing (from clips and straps) while descending.
Tears were from a mix of pain and wind.

We should turn this into a thread where we post pictures of our ankles / clipless shoes.

that scab on my ankle was before i got my clipless setup, I was riding home drunk and tried to ride up a curb for god knows what reason about half a block from my apt.
so i fell over onto the side walk and scraped my ankle, forearm and back.
