Goin down the trail, everything seems to be fine, path is clear, no tress or vines in the way... The trail did seem a bit narrow and downhill so I felt as though I was moving really fast, I decide to take a quick look at my bike computer and with my incredible luck, the thing was on how many calories i burned. Thats not so bad... Just had to push the Mode button about 5 times, but as it turned out, it was harder than it seemed. The trail got bumpy so i struggled to put hand on the button, when i finally did, the trail suddenly turned left, there was a tree on the right. With my one hand, i couldn't steer the bike in time and i ended up smashing into the tree with my fork. The bike flips all around, i get thrown into some nasty mud... But I Felt Fine! :) No injuries, no nothings, just a few bruises on my arm. My bike didn't feel so great tho... :( , I have a bent fork, bent front derailleur, bent handlebar, and i got a big scratch across the side of the frame...
Now my question is, what should i do? This is only a $300 GT Outpost Trail (Yes, im a 14 yr old without a job :P)
Should I....
Get it repaired?
Or buy a new bike instead?

Welcome to the forums,

Congrats with the crash; ;) , this wont be your last.

I don`t know much about this GT, but if you feel comfortable with your frame, you can do some repairs, but in the end its expensive and useless.
The new parts you would have to buy are more expensive than the bike` s worth

Considering to buy a new bike is better; try to raise some money to buy a decent frame with low end components.
You can upgrade a good frame anytime you wish, a worse frame stays always worse!

Good luck,

What kind of fork is it? IOW, is it rigid or suspension? If rigid, I'd say fix the bike! You can get a new fork for about $30-40, new handlebars for about $20 and you should be able to straighten the front derailleur.

If suspension, it's probably not worth fixing. The repairs will cost more than the entire bike! Cheap forks are around $150, then you've got to install them, then replace the handlebars. Figure about $200 +/-.

New bike $300 +/- depending on what you buy.

Its a rigid stock GT fork but i want to replace it with a suspension fork ne ways, so that kinda ups the repair cost... the only reason y i considered buying a new bike is because of the frame of this one, i dont really like it that much, i think it may have rust on the inside too...

I'd say just replace it. You can get some nice bikes with a very nice lightweigth frame and some lesser end parts and that would be a better place ment of money and upgrede to a great bike (sence you say that you dont really like your steel frame). just my 2 cents :)
