Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Do black toe clips exist?

I'm looking for black toe clips. I DON'T want plastic, so i guess its Steel or Aluminum.
Do they exist?
This is for the toe clip part, not the pedal. I can get black pedals.

the only company i can think of that might would be ALE, but since they're not around anymore (i think) you'd have to dig up some NOS.

I had a pair of black Alum ones in the late 80's - actually still have them hanging in my bike room. I forgot where I got them from - probably Nashbar. They were painted and not anodized. Probably less popular now that clipless has been around for many years.

I used to just wrap my chrome toe clips w/ black electrical tape.

i had black aluminum Cinelli's until I broke both of them on the same day. but yea, I think you'll have to look for NOS or used....ebay

i picked up some black toe clips from American Cyclery here in SF for $5. they had a box full of stuff they were trying to get rid of. They are made by Prisma. American might still have some more, but i know they were selling a bunch at our last veloswap, so not sure. give them a ring. 415.664.4545 (they have a fixed parts online site as well). again not sure if the ones they have on here are black or not. They have the ALE ones that jitensha mentions above. ALE INOX?
The design is one i haven't dealt with before... the clip is metal, but the base that attaches to the pedal is plastic:

You can always put some black enamel or powdercoat on a pair of regular steel clips and bake it in an oven.

I don't think they have ever developed toe clips specifically for blacks, but I just heard of a new drug designed specifically for black heart patients.

Cinelli and some other European manufacturer once made leather-covered toe clips. You still got the same flexibility as with metal clips, but the leather (brown or black, I can't remember) was there to protect the shoes.

AFAIK, they are no longer manufactured, and are very hard to get as New Old Stock.

Ha...I bet you saw those at Charles' (Wright Bros) in Fremont. I was looking at those....they were so light but only available in Medium. I think he still has a bunch of them.

I think MKS still makes the leather covered ones, or at least there are still a bunch around. I would avoid those if you have any problems with toe over though.

It's a great little shop. He doesn't actually sell new bikes, just parts and does repairs. He has a woodstove and a piano in his shop as well. It's a great place to go when it's cold and rainy out. He's been at it for years and knows alot. He also operates a co-op shop where you can pay a onetime fee of $30.00 and work on your bike for free....forever. All the tools and stuff you need are provided.....very cool place and worth a visit.

I went to see Charles at Wright Bros yesterday. All he had was a pair of mediums so I snagged them. It's just the clips (mat black with gold lightening bolts) no starps. If you want them, pm your address and I'll send them off.

Spray paint won't last, baking enamael paints causes them to glass up. Ever heard of copper enamaeling?

I was doing bashguards with this process.

3 light coats, 130 degrees 20 minutes. Gets way harder than solvent drying.
