Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Any info about this builder?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Saw this bike @ competitivecyclist and it's everything I wanted for a frameset/build I was thinking about (basically fast/light/igh commuter). Anyone know about this company/frame?

comfy geo.
Sorry OP, this is the first I've read about Civilian bikes.
There's something you don't see on a SS/FG ? Disc brakes ? What are the chances the fork isn't steel like the rest of the bike ? Reading the link for them, sounds like they are taking big chances on mixing frame & fork combos, stays and such ? That frame set is a cyclocross with 700c's to make it a hybrid of sorts. I'm gonna need some time sorting the concept out ? From the write ups, sounds like the frame designer(s) have gone to great lengths to design each area of the bike to utilize whatever materials they chose to combine to build a unique product. Certainly isn't your square peg in a square hole design. That explains the odd appearances ? I guess when you do a pub crawl, over beers, billiards & darts, cyclists can discuss the finer points of the design ? Or maybe that's too much technology to discuss in a bar ? Pretty pricey too.

Now see, I would use those seeing how I only ride free. I also like a more relaxed frame geo which it has. Not sure about the wishbone seat stay though...

The adjustable vertical dropout is interesting.

Those cable guides up on top of the top tube blow it.
Shouldering a bike with cable stops on the bottom blows though. I've almost cut mine off a couple times... But just can't do it, even though I have to carry it upstairs after every ride...
Overall, very versatile bike, clearance for fat tires, option for gears, good brakes.
I prefer cable guides, then again I have a rear brake. What makes me chuckle are more expensive bikes that don't have them and the solution is a gaudy and cheap plastic tie wrap when a rear brake is installed. Nothing like a $ 700+ bike finished off with tie wraps ? I mean, even my Vilano has cable guides. They'll make the welds all pretty but won't weld cable guides on the tubing ?

It is a cyclocross bike. I have no idea what you're rambling on about, but cyclocross bikes use 700c wheels.

I have no idea what you're rambling on about, but cyclocross bikes use 700c wheels.Right, but the thread is in SS/FG and this forum is generally track bikes with skinny tires, there is a cyclocross forum which use the 700c, but fatter tires ? I didn't read that, I figured this would've been moved if it was about a cyclocross bike.

Dude, it is a single speed cyclo-cross bike. Why can't it go here? Do all the track bikes have to go in the track forum?

I can't believe how we need to explain this lol
Square peg in a square hole, a cyclcocross bike is a cyclocross bike, regardless of how many gears it has. Using that logic to classify and categorize this based upon the fact that it uses a single speed gear, if it had bmx grips or a bmx freewheel on it, it should also be acceptable to find it in the bmx section ?

I ride a converted CXSS setup as a commuter, dick around, "my favorite bike" build and I promise you I belong here in the FG forum over any other subforum in this entire website. This bike belongs here as much as the next. Hell, I'd run it FG and just drink an extra pint before I raced it.

dood...you have posted in this singlespeed/fixedgear forum about your interest in some crazy system with chainrings on both sides of the bb along with confessing that you need more than 1 gear to be able ride over the intracoastal bridges which in reality are not all that strenuous
please stop...
your foolishness is making the rest of us in so fla look bad by association

your foolishness is making the rest of us in so fla look bad by associationThe intracoastal I was referring to is the William H. Lehman, it doesn't have a drawbridge, please, get some footage of yourself riding up that pushing 80+ GI all the way and sitting in the saddle the entire/whole way. I bet you're walking before you get to the apex ? As for the other thread, that thread was about a several speed track bike setup anyway. So relative to that thread, don't think my posts were any more foolish than you calling me out for it in a totally unrelated thread in this one. Please stop making a fool of yourself, you're embarrassing yourself as I don't take credit for you regardless of where you live.

I think the vive le roi looks pretty cool. I was looking at these last night and wasn't too disappointed with the builds. a little more tire clearance and internal cable routing wouldn't hurt imo, but it fills all the criteria that make me say yes please. I just wish I could see one in person.
and those dropouts...

anyway, that is not in really miami, its in aventura. ridden it & the only hard thing about it is fighting the traffic - not much of a climb, just a bit long...whatsamatta, too hard onya? you can't handle it but you're demanding pics from another rider? you are a funny guy, you take pics of all your rides? sorry but 'm busy riding on mine.
ok...i need a new riding buddy ;) - meet ya halfway between ft laudy & aventura & we can hit it. where & when, my friend? till then, please stop posting stupid ****, ok?
getting back to the original subject...i think the bike in question is interesting & if anyone would take a moment to check, they will find that company does make trackend & mountain bikes as well as that cx bike. modular designs? i wonder...

Well, I've been looking at SSCX bikes, and this one ****s on the rest, and is just a tad out of my price point. Worth waiting I think.
Won't be my only self indulgence, but it will be a nice one.

Why would you run 80 GI anywhere other than on the track?
Why would you run 80 GI anywhere other than on the track? My SS/FG runs 76 GI (bike weighs 24 lbs), That's actually not a big deal on flat roads, perhaps even with a kind tailwind. But if you try riding up a steep enough grade or into the wrong headwnd, depending upon how old & shape your knees and lungs are in, you might wind up messing your knees up or gassing out like so many others have posted about their aches, pains & wheezing. I wouldn't want anyone to post that they could do it, then show up with a 15-17 lb carbon road bike and either stand up and pedal or downshift to something they eventually might get up the grade and then try to take credit for conquering the hill. It's not that I don't think it can't be done, but to pretend it's going to be a pleasant endeavor or something to look forward too is misleading.
