Electric Bikes - Ridekick Power Trailer looks like my answer to power my ICE Adventure 3FS trike.

I really didn't want to modify my new trike and add a lot of weight to the trike as I have to lift it on & off the rear racks that I designed and had built for the bumper of our RV. My wife also rides a Greenspeed trike that goes on its own rack on the RV too. I figured I could buy two RideKicks and put them on a tray mounted hitch. I need some feed back as too what others have done and if they think this would work for us. Thanks!

An alternative would be a relatively light eZee hub motor setup with lithium batteries. Attaching battery and controller to the back of the seat with aluminum straps secured with P-clamps makes for a pretty easy and unobtrusive setup. My wife and I have trikes with this setup...

I've thought about the eZee hub motor and battery set up but then I'm just adding additional weight to the bike that I have to left up to mount in the rack on the back of our RV. The Sidekick is a pusher trailer that disconnects from the trike so I can leave the trike stock and ride it without modification or add the Sidekick trailer that will push the trike up to 19 mph and also have additional storage room in the weather proof trailer, all for about the same money as the hub motor/battery setup.

Yup. Only you can decide. Overall an integrated system like the eZee makes a better e-assist but in the areas of trike lift weight and option to use without assist components it loses out. FWIW, I lift my trike into a van frequently. The battery is removable so I don't lift that. The hub motor is the only significant additional weight.
