Yes, goldern it straight to heck: I have a 2003 Trek 7200 (http://bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2003&Brand=Trek&Model=7200&Type=bike) and I would like to get rid of the suspension fork because it's heavy, rusting, and I generally hate it. Would I have to get a suspension-corrected fork, or would I be able to find just another 1" threaded fork and be ok? Thanks!

Honestly, I would just sell it and get another bike that doesn't have suspensions.

Yeah, I was definitely thinking of that... Local framebuilder could do 1" threaded suspension-corrected for $175, but that's getting spendy for the bike...

Agree! I had one before but did not live up to my expectation. After a year I decided to get rid of that bike and get another one.
