Guess I over did it a bit and am having trouble with the tendons around the knee.
In the past the ache would go away on its own , but now at 65 I probably have to take a more active role . I have looked online at some stretches , but will see a PT next week. Just wondered what has worked for you and if you were able to beat it .
The frustrating part is that there is no pain while on the bike so it is hard to stay off it.
Thanks , bj

I had it in my 40s and I did have it while on the bike. I found using a neoprene knee brace until I built up strength helped quite a bit.

My knees will hurt if I don't take 1600 units of vitamin E everyday.
I don't know why it works for me, but it does.

Don't know if it's similar, but I had an inflamed MCL a couple of years back. I could barely walk for several days and it wasn't getting better. Went to an orthopedist and even though I was over a week into the situation he prescribed ice for 48 hours, and as much rest as possible with the leg elevated. That was followed by heat for the next few days, and more resting. It did the trick for me, even though my knee would feel tweaked from time to time for another year or so. Hasn't bothered me in quite a while.

Yes, but only if the brace has a hole in it for the kneecap. This was strong advice I got from said orthopedist.

Rest, and look for the cause.
Quad sets are helpful in strengthening knees. Seeing a PT is a good thing.

Knee braces during activity and at least an hour of ice paks after...
