I have a shimano hub dynamo running an Edulux front light but now trying to wire in an led tail light (Smart TL267RG) . I can run either light but not the two together, doen't work in parallel. Earthing back through the frame. This should work right? What am I doing wrong please? Is there a special way to wire this up?

You probably have them wired out of phase. Even though the hub puts out A/C, you need to be consistent in which wire you treat as the ground.
Have you tried wiring it with two wires going to both the headlight and the taillight?
