The reason you are telling resellers to FO? Thats what you are doing. You bought it whenever, and now you are reselling it. Sure, maybe you had it 20 years, but you are still reselling....

What year is it? I don't recall that bike coming with moustache bars and barcons. Learn something new everyday.

Get the price right, and you don't have to worry about resellers, as there will be no margin left.

Myself, I don't care if someone resells a bike I sell. If I did a poor job pricing it, or they are just better marketing it, lesson learned. One reseller has bought several bikes from me. He is more than welcome to buy more.

I don't get it. What's the facination with Bridgestone road bikes. I know they have a good reputation for riding well, but so does Centurion, Bianchi, Trek (steel), Paramount and the list goes on. I know that Bridgestone mountain bikes were unique (at least some of them) because of their geometry, but I don't get why the roadies command all this attention.

Take the ad down, figure out a price, then re-post. Posting a C/L ad without a price is a total jerk move, and violates C/L policy. Huge waste of time for you and for buyers interested.

I think it should be worth at least $300, maybe $400?

wrk101, I just don't want someone to buy this bike and turn it for a profit. It should go to a rider as it did to me. Yes I did get several years of use and stored it for a few more. I love this bike and want to sell it to a rider. $$ are not the most important to me.

You're the reason I don't post on major forums. I posted here looking for help not to be bashed. Sorry to the community for this outburst.

I think $500 with OBO would be fair. You'll at least get rid of the resellers.

it looks like a 1993 Bridgestone RB-1. If it has the special double crown fork then it has the original frame and fork, but those mustache bars are not original.

if the bike is in pristine condition then you can get up to $700 for it if you have the right people bidding against each other in an ebay listing. on craigslist you can get up to $500-600 if its in excellent condition and even more in a hot market like NYC/Northern and Southern California/Boston/Philadelphia (in my experience).

you're not going to avoid people who may want to re-sell the bike. if its in pristine condition then the frame will fetch maybe $400-500 then the savvy will just sell off the components as well to make some extra profit. remember you're not selling a pet, but this is a super desired frame so its going to reach someone that wants it (even if they want/willing to pay a premium for it).

well the bridgestone's represent the kind of niche bikes that guys like Gary Fisher and Klein used to put out... only bridgestones were obviously lead by the retrogrouch future Rivendel dude himself Grant Peterson. What I don't understand is how people will shell out $2,000 for a Rivendell Rodeo frame when all you have to do is find a 93/94 BRidgestone RB-1 for 1/5th of the price.

I think they represent a simpler time in bike consumerism - those mid 90's where the influx of STi, cheaper aluminum frames, and carbon started to influence every part of what is today.

I remember being a bright eyed bushy tailed 13y/o seeing an RB-1 at the LBS and reading all the articles praising the bike and lusting for it. I'm certainly not alone, so thats what obviously raises the price for the bikes and their cache. guys like me who want to buy the bike they wanted way back when.

I'd ask for 500 and hope to get 400, I got 300 for my RB2 but it took me a while

I recently purchased a 1992 RB-1 in perfect shape (no scratches at all). It is a 62cm frame. I paid $425 and was very happy at that price. Mine has drop bars with bar end shifters. Your bike is a 1993.

Your add stated the top tube length. What is the seat tube length measured center to center?
Also the original bars on the RB-1 were Nitto drop bars, not mustache bars. Mustache bars originally came on the XO-1.

And to post an ad telling a certain population of folks to FO (keep in mind there are a lot of people on BF who make up said population) yet get so defensive about someone pointing out the flaws in your ad, it's probably a good thing that you avoid forums.

Edit your ad a bit, get rid of the "FO" part and ask for $500. Someone will get a nice deal that way.

You cannot control what people choose to do with something you have sold them, forget about even trying.

It is kinda funny that a guy telling people to FO in his ad would be so sensitive
