I have recently purchased an old butchers bike, and am in the process of restoring it to its former glory so I can us it to raise money for charity. Does any one know where I can get spares for it. Brake blocks would be a good start????

search the internet for a local bicycle co-op.
The one in Cleveland has loads of old parts.
Enjoy

Where did you buy the butcher's bike at? I didn't think anyone was making them anymore, at least not in the US.

Hi. I found it hanging in a barn in Derbyshire England. It had been their for at least 28 years. I paid £40 for it and am now trying to get parts for it before I strip it down to re build. The tiers are a little split and the crank is loose. The frame is good. As soon as i got it home I blew the tires up and did a ride around the local streets. I intend to sell it on once it has been restored and I have raised some cash for charity.

Not entirely true: http://www.redbones.com/rider.html

I'm sure if you really wanted, Mike would build one for you too. ;)

You need a UK source for bits. Fibrax make brake blocks for just about everythiing and are available from any good bike shop.
If you want suggestions for a good bike shop in Nottingham, then ask at cyclingplus.co.uk, a more UK oriented forum.
