Foo - Tsunami Support Ad in the forums...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I think it's really nice that the ad generator put up this Tsunami Support advertisement instead of the regular commercial ad's. Right, Wrong or Indifferent, it's pretty cool.
I notice it says "remove this post" and then takes you to a page where you can support the forum - are supporters seeing the ad too?

I'm not seeing the ad. I'm guessing that the "remove this post" link is suggesting that if you make a donation to the forums, you won't see the ad.

Wow. I would think messages like that are more of a public service and they could hook it up so everyone sees the "ad".
Well this is what your post looks like if you don't donate to the forum...
Yeah, I don't get to see it. :( But it's nice to know the google ads are pitching in too.

We are mods. We don't see ads ;)
Yes, but I'm a donating member too. So I wouldn't see them either way!

why not offer up the link to the ad? If you can click it, you often can link it!

I removed the google ads and put up the direct links, PLEASE click and donate. I am not allowed to bring attention to the google ads, but these are NOT google ads, so PLEASE help out. I have donated as much as I can, the least i can do is show these links to 10,000+ people a day.
Where are the direct links located on the forums?

I recently had a ebay auction winner cancel out and offered me $10. I said dump it into the Red Cross fund instead of sending it to me, and I hope they did. I then went and dumped $20 more. I am staying in tonight and dumping $30 more as I just might have spent that if I had gone out boozing. If most people just get rid of one small thing: ordering a pizza, buying beer, buying more than what they really need, EVEN IF IT JUST ONE TIME, this would equal enough money to help someone out who has no home, possibly no family, and even worse - no hope. Think of where you are and where they are, financially, for just a moment. It makes total sense to pop at least $10 into the pot. Think $10 is not enough, or that it is wasted since it is such a small amount? Then think of what 100 people reading this and giving $10 equates to.
This is a pretty simple thing to do. I hope everyone else can give. If not, there may be a local program in your respective areas that can take clothes, canned food, etc. - even if it is not for this cause, we should all really think more about others. There are always people in need.
