Classic & Vintage - Crash replacement vehicle

On Feb. 2 I crashed my 1976 Fuji Feather track bike, as detailed here:

It was deemed too far gone for realignment of the fork and tubes, the wrinkles in the top and down tubes were pretty pronounced. I used the fuji mostly as a commuter, so I decided to replace it with a similar modern frame, lugged and steel. I had a local friend and framebuilder build a frame based on the fuji's dimensions, and we had it painted in "molteni" orange by franklin frames. I put some of the parts from the fuji back on it. Took it out today, the ride is very nice! Good to have a fixed gear commuter back in the stable!
I tried to post pics of it, apparently the new and improved bikeforums photo link tool that used to work fine no longer does. Does anyone know how to post pics now?

Yo! The fastback cluster and a lot of other details make that bike amazing. Did you get to ride it yet?

Thanks! Yes I rode it a few miles, it is very nice. Some details: lugs have cutouts, he said it was the first frame he had done this to (the fuji had cutout lugs also). He also salvaged the rear track dropouts (shimano) from the fuji, I think that is cool. Front fork is a stock soma (I think) chrome fork.

Beautiful bike. Does it feel anything like your Fuji? Looks like nimble geometry for a 76.

Now I miss my 70's track steel, bad.

The bars aren't my cup of tea, but that's my problem, not yours.

I agree drop bars would look better, but after several years of commuting on both road bikes and fixed gear bikes, and trying different bars on the fixed gear bikes, I ended up liking the bullhorns for urban / commuting when on the fixed bike. If it were singlespeed w/ 2 brakes, I would probably run drop bars. But I like fixed riding for commuting, and running just the front brake works fine. To run drop bars on it, I would need a dummy lever/hood, which would look weird to me I think. But yea all my other bikes including 2 vintage raleigh track bikes have drop or track bars.

Don't get me wrong, I love the bicycle.

Pretty cool you could keep the memory of the Fuji going.

I rode nothing but Cinelli bars for the last thirty years, all drops of various ilk.

In particular, I used Cinelli Model 65s for years and still have a set or two around here.

I'm also envious, as I can't ride fixed anymore.

My left knee is shot. The last round of surgery took care of it but good.

I really dig my single speed Casati though!
