Yeah, I imagine there will be some people there. Any other questions?

I'm just trying to figure out who my competition will be ;-). I won't have to deal w you this year and Aaron's injured, so that just leaves Hipsters and Flippahs

I'll be there. I'm hoping that since I'm looking for stuff with gears I won't be competing with most hipsters. I've actually never been to one of these events at Trexlertown, are there many vendors selling vintage parts or is it mostly last years closeouts, complete bikes etc. I'm looking for some 1990's Dura Ace and Campy parts to complete some grouppos. Is it worth the 1 hr drive and entry fee? If you say No! then I know it is and you just don't want competition :). I'll be going anyway, just trying to get my expectations in check. Also, how is the pricing there generally?

I'm going, but mainly selling stuff since I'm moving in a couple weeks, so I actually sprung for a private vendor spot to unload some stuff. I have a few frames, some wheelsets, and other stuff that I'd rather not ship/sell on ebay.

I'm so bummed about not making it...even worse, I probably am missing philly's race, which is one of my favorite days of the year.

there are a good number of vintage parts there. i would say it's 65% used bike parts and 35% last year's closeouts. i am coming up from Baltimore, ~1 1/2hr drive, and this is my 4th or 5th trip up. obviously i consider it worth it. trexlertown and westminster probably comprise 60% of my $ spent on bikes during the year.

the pricing is generally good. cheaper than ebay usually, and no shipping! it really comes down to the vendor though, some are willing to make a deal to send something to a good home and some are really hard-asses, but the sticklers are the minority.

Is the ridge runner on the sale list?

Thanks for the insight! Now i am getting excited. I wasn't expecting to get any steals on vintage parts since we all know what things are selling for on ebay, but saving on shipping is a big enough deal. Buying a bunch of $30-$40 parts from different sellers online and suddenly you've spent $60 in shipping. It should be worth the trip even if I just get the handlebars and stem I need.

I'll be there again this year with a much reduced inventory. I'll be selling my Tadpole trike, and my Wifes Rans LWB recumbent,
and just a few road bikes. Hopefully the sky will stay up.

Aaron, I hope you mend quickly. It won't be the same without you Buddy.

We can only take two bikes with us on our hitch rack this trip (my 210 and my girlfriend's panasonic), but I was planning on keeping the ridge runner in 'storage' hanging up in my parents' garage for visits back east. I'll send you a pm though.

I'm planning on coming. Don't know if I will have anything for sale though.

It is a fun event, but I will be missing this one and am undecided on the fall at this point. It is simply too long a drive from Richmond.

You can find deals there, for the most part frames. Over the years I've picked up a few bikes there ; a Mondia for 150 and a Serotta track frame and fork for 225 are the ones that stand out.

It's a good time. Tom usually wears a pink and blue Hawaian shirt so he's easy to spot. Pricing varies, usually is good though.

I'll be there. Look for the coolest dork around.

It's really awesome when the track sells some of their house bikes. A few years back some people got some fantastic prices on serotta, spectrum, etc. track bikes for around $400 each.

Looks like it's going to be a pretty nice day tomorrow!

I'll have a private vendor spot somewhere, I'll probably have a Velo Cult (http://velocult.com/museum/) shirt on. If you see me, come say hi!
