I picked up this box of vintage goodies this week. It has a ton of stuff. I have taken about half of it and deemed it liftable to the local bike kitchen for reuse.

Here are some of the more interesting items (I think):

I like this rack. Heavy for sure. I was told it was French. Any idea what it is?

Beautiful pedals

The TA crank is missing the left side arm. He hacked that side off because he didn't have the TA crank puller. I have the other side Raleigh. Any idea who made that one?

Lots of pedals. A couple of singles, unfortunetely

Cool Suntour collection (and Shimano). Any idea who made the FD with holes in it. It is branded Raleigh.

Love this front TA rack!

Interesting bottle cages. Any idea which bottles it the the narrow ones? Aero? The kickstand says made in England on it (probably a Raleigh). Sanyo generator. I'm not familiar with the stem on the right (It has an arrow on both sides). They are both nice looking.

Tons of other stuff not pictured. A nice pair of Binda straps to boot!

The aero cages are probably Campy and the front deraileur is a Suntour.

The Raleigh crank was made by SR. Nice haul by the way, always nice to get a big pile of Suntour stuff :thumb:

The lower aero cage looks as if its Campy, but the top one bears a resemblance in its construction to Cobra's alloy cages of the late-'70s. The hole-equipped FD is a rebadged, high-normal Suntour Spirt (Yes, that's the correct spelling).

I wouldn't hold onto that Raleigh/SR crank. I've never seen any other aluminum crank more susceptible to twisting if cranked on too hard. I personally wound up twisting the first and only one I ever found intact.

I'm very tempted to dig up one of those Weinmann-mount TA racks to fit my '61 Schwinn Paramount. Despite being a workhorse, it's not a practical hauler; yet, a doohickey such as that may increase its usability in that respect.

Cool feedback!

Anyone know any info on the rack in the first photo?

The platform pedals are Lyotard Berthet #23. My favorite pedals ;) Lots of cool stuff!

Cheers,
Chris

Nothing pops as super high value but a lot of quality very usable components. Better Suntour stuff is always great for lesser builds. Plus some of the more interesting items like the TA crank and older track sylvan pedals could actually fetch a decent price on ebay. I have had great luck selling interesting hard to find stuff on the bay even if not complete. I would say if you paid less than $100 for the lot you should do just fine getting value out of it with a little effort.

The Cobra cages that I have are marked with the brand (maybe molded into the plastic section?) Are there unmarked versions also?

I like that SR Aerox crank. I picked up a beater that had one on it and was surprised by the light weight, but it was pretty abused and had hammer marks on the back :(

The aero cage with the plastic on it has a small "REG" logo on it. The other, alloy one, is too cheaply made to be a Campy (and no logo on it).

I flipped a 1972 mercier with that exact same front rack last year

I have a few orphan Campy pedals. Let's make some matches. PM sent.

Those racks would get some decent action if you were to sell.

And the Raleigh-branded front derailleur is a SunTour Compe-V.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll list out the pedal orphans soon and will be listing stuff I am not going to use.

I have found those TA front racks extremely hard to find. Lucky you. Nice pedals too (the Lyotards).

Dunno, but it looks a lot like my VO rack. I wonder if that's what they modeled their design on?

A few people have PM'd me about the pedals with the one center O. after doing a bit of research it looks like that are made in England and are Phillips Credalux from the 1950's.

Cheers,
