A co worker has his old Paletti, or rather his daughter does, and I'm going to try to talk him out if it. I don't have a clue about the model. Did they make any low end stuff in the 70's?

I do not know about "low-end", but they definitely made some below pro level models. I've seen a few mid-level Alle tubed bikes from the early 80's. Best thing to do is go look at it. If it has Campy drops and Alle tubes, then mid-level. Campy drops and SL tubes, then higher end. Stamped drops and no tubing decal, then low end.
