As title says, what is the stand-over height of your 56cm ONLY Surly LHT/DT
(geometry is identical for these frames)?

Please measure at mid-tube, half way between head tube and seat tube,
as the SO varies along the sloping TT length. Also, please indicate
if you're using tires sized differently than the original size 700x37 tires,
since this affects the stand-over height measurement.

I'm considering a 56cm DT and I'm cutting it close SO-wise, thus my
little "survey" here.

I know the Surly spec states 81.2cm, but my smaller LHT is ~1.7cm
taller than specified (likely due to tires), so I want to confirm actual SO height on a 56cm
before I make the decision to purchase.

Thanks in advance.

With 700c X 32, my 56 cm LHT measures ~81.5 cm.

thanks - needed that upper limit.

It's starting to look like actual SO range for 56cm LHT/DT is 81.5-82.1cm, depending on tire size (so far reported on 32-42mm tires, from this and another thread). As I had guessed earlier, Surly's SO specs are underestimated a little for both the 26" and 700c versions. Their geometry chart used to state "based on preliminary drawings using a Primo Racer 26 x 1.25" tire that measures 628mm in diameter; or a Rivendell (Panaracer) Ruffy Tuffy 700c x 28mm (this actually is closer to a 700c x32mm) tire that measures 690mm in diameter". I've noticed most folks use larger tires than 26x1.25" or 700x28mm, and in fact Surly sells Complete bikes with 26x1.85/700x37mm.

Please continue to offer any more SO submissions for 56cm LHT/DT - more sampling=more confidence. Thanks again.
