Picked up a real barn fresh Holdsworth with a mish/mash of parts. Early Suntour Superbe RD, Campy NR/SR FD, Superbe crank arms w Sugino rings, Campy bottom bracket, Superbe brakes, Superbe pedals, 5 tubular wheels (one pair Campy, one pair Specialized and I think the last wheel is Campy also).
All the parts have a layer of rust. The quick releases, derailleurs, pedals, etc. Not sure if I am going to be able to bring the parts back to life. Might need to try the oxalic acid thing.
Bought this bike/parts mainly for the frame as it is my size and it looks good. The only thing I need to resolve now is the stuck seat post. I knew this was going to be an issue but I was willing to buy everything plus a Campy alloy freewheel in pristine condition (I do need to find the Campy specific slanted tooth freewheel remover though)
Serial number on steerer tube and frame match 021945. Frame has been repainted. Anybody care to guess which model frame this is? Professional?
The whole package was $175. I figure if I sell the Campy freewheel, I might more than recoup what I paid for.
