General Cycling Discussion - Cycling Jacket

Been looking for a good solid black cycling jacket for a minute now. I see a couple people ride by with ones I dig, but can never catch them. Saw this one online, just a photo. Anyone know what jacket this could be? (Right side).

What specific feature do you like about that jacket?
Seems to me, it's just like any generic windbreaker
you can get at any sporting goods/clothing store.

Bike stores? My local one (where I got my bike) has a whole section of jackets, I've actually considered getting one very similar to those. Honestly, just go to any well-stocked biking store and you will find them. Also once you find good models/brands, try searching for them in online stores, they might be cheaper there.

EDIT: Also almost ANY sports or sportswear store should have them.

WTF is wrong with people dressing in black for cycling in traffic?? Don't these idiots understand that maximum visibility is your ticket to staying alive or not!

When people wear dark colors ,or worse yet black, they make themselves invisible to traffic around them so that some hapless drive can mow them down 'cause the idiot biker wore a dark/black color making them impossible to see in all the background movement and colors. Yellow, lime green ,or hell, even bright red is much much safer for riding in traffic.

But you can't tell these idiots that............

Sure, let's encourage this asinine unsafe behavior so that we can feel better when we have to morn their death or injury due to dark/black clothing in traffic. Oh for Gods sake!! Let's NOT!!!!

No thanks. I won't encourage this insane clothing for cycling. I will speak out against it at every opportunity until the young and foolish understand their responsibility to dress in bright colors to avoid getting hit by a motorist.

i use the Bellwether Coldfront jacket for anything under 50deg F (base layer varies).

i wear black, but my bag is bright red w/ 4" wide hiviz reflective strips.

all black everything seems a little less than safety conscious. that said, i've been wearing hiviz jackets on a bright blue bike, had drivers make eye contact and still try to right hook me because they looked away and forgot i was there. awareness/controlled reaction is still your best weapon.

Showers pass has some nice Tweedy ones of a water-resistant fabric.

I think black is easier to see during the day. Obviously not at night. I have bright lights, front and back, reflective strips and I pay attention. Possibly you, the driver should be more cautious, rather than txting and blowing through lights (not assuming you do that). Every time I nearly get hit, that's the cause. My clothes obviously don't matter since the driver doesn't pay attention regardless. Could be wearing blinking neon lights and I bet I could still get hit.

I have a mostly-black windbreaker but it does have some bright red areas and for riding at night........it's Illuminite! (Reflective) I would prefer it be a lighter color.

I think black is easier to see during the day.
Unless you're in a dark shadowed area (such as passing under dense trees) - which is exactly the place where visibility is likely to be a problem even in bright daylight. Sure, bright colored clothing won't prevent all collisions, but I think it does help even in daylight.

Clipless pedals, black jackets, oh My. What's next from the bike nannys. Mirror and blinkie guy here. YRMV.
