Foo - I'm a word geek so I love this site I found.
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
That's the complete list of "banned" words. Click the year in the right-hand column to see an explanation of why they decided to ban that word. I love this kind of stuff.
I see what you are saying. In my humble opinon, absolutely an awesome and arguably as completely an empty site as I have seen in this post modern virtual reality. ( I used as many banned words and phrases as I could muster for that one)
I looked through the lists and damn if quite a bit of what I write and how I write it is now banned. Like, does this mean I will be arrested soon?
Cool site. Oh shoot, I think cool is banned also. But nonetheless, a fun one fer sher.

I agree. Those people are full of s***.
nah... those guys seem to be on the mark most of the time. Have you looked at some of the reasons for putting those words on the list?

Heighth was banned in 1988... didn't see an explanation.
As a graphic artist, it used to annoy the crap out of me when my peers would say that. Years passed and I realized, while they may be "wrong", I could be wrong too. It is an official, tho archaic, word and I'm just a dick for getting annoyed at people for using it "wrong".
So I'm thinking, that website can kiss my butt ASAP 24/7 cuz they're just an elist group of bored academics.

These people need something else to do.
They're don't seem to be doing too much work collecting the words since they are nominated by other people. They just do the judging. But actually, the list, i.e. these people, is doing what it was intended to do: "The tongue-in-cheek Banishment List began as a publicity ploy for little-known LSSU." http://www.lssu.edu/banished/history.php So it's not likely to be a case of bored academics but rather a recuiting/publicity tool and I seem to have helped in their mission. Regardless, at some level you have to admit that there is a phrase or two that you'd like to see on the list. Anyone want to nominate "git 'er done"?
