Well I have been tracking parts down like crazy to build this up on the cheap. The shop I work at does Saturday rides and I wanted to participate this year. I also just wanted something nice to ride to work.
The frame is a Fiori and it is Columbus Aelle tubing. I had it blasted and powdercoated because I wanted a nice tough paint job to handle whatever Illinois has to throw at it this year.
The upper half is modern because I wanted to keep the bike comfortable, and I wanted some nice stopping power for the path. The bottom though is mostly campy. Nuovo Record cranks, shifters, and front and rear derailleurs.
The wheels are some Mavic Open Sports laced to some Suntour Sprint hubs.
I am eventually designing my own graphics for it because I am soon to be a Graphic Design major on summer break. Italian Vibe, but with my own twist. The frame was actually made in Italy which is weird because everyone says Fiori is a Canadian company. Gipiemme drop-outs and lugs.
