Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Unintetional Links

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I was recently posting on the <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=5&k=mountain%20bike" onmouseover="window.status='<a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=5&k=mountain%20bike" onmouseover="window.status='mountain bike'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">mountain bike</a>'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">mountain bike</a> thread and I typed in <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=5&k=suspension%20bike" onmouseover="window.status='<a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=5&k=suspension%20bike" onmouseover="window.status='suspension bike'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">suspension bike</a>'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">suspension bike</a>. If what happened there happens here, I know something is rotten in Demark. The key word suspension bike is an automatic link to Price Point. If anyone has no intention of linking cyclists to a low ball bike internet company it is me. But anyway, does this happen often? And is it anindication of some nasty my computer may have picked up? Regardless, it is surely a sleazy tactic from Price Point. And how do I fix this or can I fix this?
edit note - Apparently mountain bike is another auto link. What the Hell is going on?
2nd edit note - I am going to shut down. Apparently this post has gotten way out of hand. See Ya. Please contact me if my computer is still up in a few hours.

This might help:
If you'd like to remove Hyperlinker, please follow these instructions:
1. Click Start
2. Click "Run"
3. Type "command" in the Run box
4. Type "cd C:\Windows\system32" or cd "C:\WINNT\system32" (depending on your operating system)
5. Type "regsvr32 -u lmf32.dll"
6. Restart your computer
7. After restarting, you may delete the files "lmf32.dll" and "lmd.bin" from your Windows\System32 directory
And some advice:
1. Use a browser other than Internet Explorer. Firefox and Mozilla (visit http://www.mozilla.org) are both excellent bets.
2. Get a spyware detection tool like Adaware (visit http://www.lavasoft.com) and it's a free program!
3. Do regular checks with the spyware detection tool (once a week at least) and ensure it's up-to-date (works like anti-virus programs).
4. If you're really in a bind, post in the Foo section as I believe this section is more for problems with the forum itself rather than your own computer. :D

Thanks ms. Mittens. One question though. Do you get the link on my post or am I the only one who sees it? Because if so, the term <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=5&k=operating%20system" onmouseover="window.status='operating system'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">operating system</a> from your post has become a link also.

I'm not seeing the link. It means you're probably infected with spyware. What I see is this instead.
< a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=5&k=operating%20system" onmouseover="window.status='operating system'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">operating system</ a>

Thanks. This is my first experience with this. Kind of discouraging. But hey, it's all fun, even figuring out the solutions.
My attempt at resolving this is now being tested. mountain bike. We'll see.

You have a redirect bot. Everything ms mittens said will fix the problem. (although I like IE, I just clean my pc once a week :D)

Do you do windows and vacuuming as well? How large is your dust bunny clan?! :D
IE is just plain evil. I have heard rumors recently that this will be rebuilt from scratch. Then again I've heard the same about the next Windows OS. Maybe I should buy some ocean front property in Utah.. ;)

I sure do. if i didn't my computer would just be all cluttered
I have never heard that one...hmm ocean front property in utah. I might have to try that. :)
No, I never have problems with IE. Run anti virus, search and destroy and adaware every wednesday and avoid the crappy sites that dump bots.
