Great story. Takes a lot of mental fortitude.

That's awesome.

I wonder if he was receiving disability and if they are now going to take it away?

The VA would have a hard time taking it away as he still was injuried while in service.

Inspiring! The human body has a great capacity for healing. I guess we kind of forget that when the doctor says, "Uh uh. Nope. No way." There's a pretty good movie about the street skater John Cardiel called, "Epicly Later'd". Same kind of thing. He injured his back, couldn't feel his legs, the docs said he'd never walk again. But he did. He can't skate anymore because his ankle is doesn't have full range of motion, so now he bikes. The guy is crazy, and every other word is "f***kin'", but I found it enjoyable. A young man with a supreme lust for living.
