Hello all,
Finally joined BF. Great info of all sorts. Ok on to it. I found this Bianchi Sport SS on CL for $125. Was gonna offer $100. Not sure the age. Thinking mid 80"s of Japanese manufacturing origin. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Soulpro

That looks like a '83 Sport SS with a mangalloy frame, a bit on the heavy side but should be a real nice rider. The drive train and hubs are the early shimano 105 aka Gold Arrow, DiaCompe 500Q brakes. The brake levers were changed to thos aero style at a later date.
If this is rideable and you get it for $100 go for it.

I'd go for it even at $125

@FastJake I'm thinking that I will. The only thing that gets me is that it's over 25 years old. Thanks for your input.

It could very well disintegrate tomorrow so maybe you should pass.;)

It looks to be in great shape, it was probably hardly ever ridden. In my neck of the woods, this would sell for $300 in a heartbeat.
If it is your size and the bike and parts are mechanically sound, $100 would be a bargain.

So I missed out on the first Bianchi Sport for $125. Found another that's in not as good condition as the first and the seller wants $185.

Is that a Sport? or Sport SS? they were two different models. I think $185 is a bit much for a Sport and this looks OK but it likely needs a tune up. Also I would like to see a better pic shoeing the line of the fork in relation to the headtube.

A Sport would be a HiTen frame/fork
