There, got that done with and out of the way. I've been wondering when and where it would strike. So I got in off the road from a brisk 10.5mi in the rolling hills out back of town, put the bike in the garage and went in to clean up. About 2hrs later I go out to give the bike a once over after the ride and the front is flat.
After searching the inside of the tire I found the tiniest piece of wire sticking through the inside of the tire, just enough to puncture the tire. I dont think it was more than 2mm long and very light guage. Looks like the wire used on wire brushes.
Last summer, same thing. Had a piece of wire stuck out the sidewall and of course I had to pull it, the sound of hissing as I put the pliers back. Seems to be my nemesis these little nubbins of wire.
