Hi all!
I have always wanted to purchase a bike and since I recently moved 50 yards from the entrance of a major Georgia trail (Silver Comet), I figured it was time to buy the bike. I can't wait to ride! (Had to order the bike at the shop). I'm already looking at charity rides and fun events to join. :) Great to be here!

Welcome to the BikeForums. You might checkout the MS 150 as a fun (albeit long) charity event. The first time I rode it I used a mountain bike with slick tires (for the road).

10 Wheels - Well after asking around a bit, I found that the Trek 7.2 WSD was just right for my needs and current budget. I will definitely be easing into the bike scene however being so close to a great paved bike path, I have no excuses not to get in seat time. :)

Sachelis, thanks for the reminder on the MS ride. I had a co-worker with MS who used to ride that every year on a tandem bike with her hubby. Definitely a worthy cause! :) Since I just missed the May ride, the Sept ride is a great goal to start training for.
