Is your insurance company for your car notified if you get a ticket while on a bike? Does it depend on the state?

So far as I know it is not considered a points violation.
Somehow my ins company doesn't seem to care about my speeding points either  hum dee dumm....
Don't ask don't tell I suppose.

In PA I am almost certain it doesn't. Can't say for the others.

In New York City, it's 3 points and about $100.00 dollar fine for a first offense. Your insurance is notified and your rates go up depending on the fine. I ran a red light and this is what my "attorney" told me before going to the judge.
On the positive note, there are loads of lawyers in traffic court who will get the fine discharged for $120.00 bucks so you're better off paying them instead of the judge.

PA is a nice state then. The max penalty for anything not involving another car is 10 bucks here.
