I thought I might like to get into bicycling so I took the wife's trek 7000 out a few times and enjoyed it so I asked for a bike for my birthday. After doing the bike shops and online links I decided I wanted a Giant Cypress DX due to the suspension fork and trigger shifter and I am having a blast. I am fortunate in that a mile away there is a nature preserve with about 5 miles of paved trails and many more hard packed trails and it is so nice to pedal down there and not worry about cars and be able to watch the kayaks go by(next adventure). Anyway I am retired and checked out this forum for info on riding and I want to thank you all for all the info including us big guys riding.
