FYI - It's time again for the Central VT Cycling Tour. I hope some of the New England & Northeast contingent will be interested in this ride. It's considered by many to be a "dirt road classic", and this year's food offerings are going to make sure no one leaves hungry. Plus, this year we have a great raffle AND a silent auction - packed with goodies from Vermont cycling and skiing centers, shops & resorts. Another thing to take into consideration is that this is a fully supported ride, with 3 lavishly stocked food stops, signed road junctions and course-wide mechanical and medical support.
On June 17, 2012, the Cross VT Trail Association invites you to participate in the Central VT Cycling Tour (formerly known as the "VT Eco Tour"). Riders have a choice of 14, 33 and 59 mile rides on scenic gravel roads. There is also a running option: runners can run the 14 and 33-mile courses.
This event is also a way to sample some great Vermont food. Our feed stations and end of ride buffet will be packed with food from local farms, businesses and restaurants.
Registration includes:
great local food at a post-ride buffet
course map with turn-by-turn directions
3 lavishly stocked food stops
signed road junctions
course-wide mechanical and medical support
free sport water bottle with tour logo (1st 100 entrants)
silent auction and raffle
The 33 mile run and 59 mile bike will be timed courses.
The 59 mile ride is 92% gravel/dirt, has approx 6,000' of climbing, and 3 feed stations.
The 33 mile ride/run is 85% gravel/dirt, has 3,000' of climbing, and 3 feed stations.
The 14 mile ride/run is 75% gravel/dirt, is more appropriate for families with kids (no long climbs or descents), and 1 feed station.
The purpose of this event is to raise funds and awareness for the Cross Vermont Trail Association's (CVTA) statewide trail projects in Vermont.
