Hello,

I am currently working on a project for the University of Utah and Notre Dame. I have a list of 100 frames that I need identify the type of material being used. ( cr-mo, ti, prestige, double butted, triple, etc.) I would really appreciate any help that the forum members could give me. I could e-mail you the list if you are interested.

I don't help people with their homework by doing their research for them.

This is not homework. I am a research assistant for a professor at the UofU. This information will be used to write a book on mountian bike innovation.

If you truly are a research assistant then you should honestly do your job and research the information. The fact that you already have a list makes this whole thing stink to high heaven.

Sounds to me like he is doing the research. One way of doing research is by doing interviews with informed people.

Who would be the frame manufacturers.

The frame data comes from trade journals from 1985-1998. I have about 5-6 thousand
bikes that I have already sorted. This list, that I made, are the frames I haven't been able to find (that is why i'm asking you nice people). 100+ out of 6 thousand is not bad for someone who knows little to nothing about mountian bikes. The list contains the frame manufacturer (i.e. Tange, Ishiwata,TT,Klien etc.) if supplying the bike manufacturer as well would be helpful I can add that info to the list.

Might try posting in the Classic forum...they seem to know a lot about obscure brands there.
