I haven't had a flat in well over a year and then Friday I hit some *@&#$ obstacle in the road *hard* ... got a pinch flat in my rear, dinged my front rim and caused a flat there too about a day later. Two flats. yay. And a dinged rim.
Sunday I pumped up both tires and hit the road to the tune of about 58 miles, had no problems at all and it was a beautiful day.
Today, I pumped up both tires, put the bike in the truck and picked my son up to take him to diving practice - POW! My rear tire went flat.
As it turns out, the sidewall on the tire was damaged, presumably by that hit on Friday and frankly, I'm shocked and glad I didn't have any problems on my long ride Sunday. So, i fire up Amazon on my smart phone, find 2 Michelin Pro 3 service course tires in 25mm (thought I'd try 25 instead of 23 this time) and thank you Prime - I'll have those things in my hands Thursday morning. $32 each because now that the Pro 4 is out, why would anybody want the pro 3? :D
So... that's it, just wanted to rant about flats. 3 in 4 days! I don't mind flats so much if they don't stop me from riding, but a blown out tire is a different story.
